He realized he had taken the 554 bis in the wrong direction and tried to avoid the first cars that came in front but not a Fiat Grande Punto with which the collision was extremely violent.

The 35-year-old Andrea Moro, baker of Villagrande Strisaili, lost his life last night. The driver of the other car, a 45-year-old from Villasimius, ended up in a serious condition in hospital.

The accident took place yesterday evening and 118 ambulances and the carabinieri rushed to the scene together with the fire brigade. The latter had to extract the victim's body from the cockpit.

Moro had left Ogliastra to reach Cagliari with the Nuova Orientale. In the final stretch, at the junction with the Nuova 554, he took the wrong lane. Realizing the mistake, he desperately tried not to end up against the other cars but the impact against the Grande Punto was inevitable.

The body was transferred to the Quartu cemetery while the investigations proceed to clarify all the details of the tragedy.
