Tragedy in Ottana: Two-year-old boy dies in his sleep

On the eve of the celebrations of Saint Anthony, a terrible tragedy has rocked Ottana, which mourns the loss of two-year-old Francesco Pio Fenudi, found dead last night following a sudden illness while sleeping. Around 7:30 PM, his parents discovered him when, trying to wake their son, they noticed that he was unconscious. Emergency services arrived immediately at the home on Viale Repubblica, and despite intensive care, the medical team could only pronounce him dead, much to the dismay of the many residents gathered along the street. They were shocked.
Pain and tears
The village parish priest, Don Pietro Borrotzu, also rushed to the scene, having traveled from Nuoro, expressing his condolences for the entire Ottana population. At 10:30 PM, the City Council officially announced the cancellation of all celebrations scheduled for today: "We are deeply shocked," Mayor Franco Saba commented. "For this reason, expressing the feelings of all Ottana residents, we have decided to stand with the Fenudi family and pause for this moment."
