Tortolì, the irrigation pipeline is broken: the Land Reclamation Consortium activates the tankers
Water transport service for agricultural companies activatedThe timing is long, and there is still no definitive completion date for the irrigation pipeline repair, although we are confidently looking ahead to the first few days of next week. With the fields dry between Tortolì and Girasole, as well as the Baccasara industrial area and all the accommodation facilities that are inaugurating the season, the Land Reclamation Consortium is launching a mutual aid operation to meet the needs of users. From the offices on Viale Pirastu, which have also provided a telephone number ( 3204786618 ), a raw water transport service has been activated for business use (animal watering, system cleaning, and irrigation) by the consortium's agricultural and livestock farms in the Tortolì and Girasole districts. This service is intended to address the emergency caused by the unexpected and unforeseeable rupture of the main pipeline on the Rio Mirenu, downstream from the Santa Lucia dam. The old sixty-year-old reinforced concrete pipeline (which fed the Arbatax paper mill's tanks) collapsed on April 7th, and the initial inspection by the Consortium's technical staff revealed it was a serious problem that couldn't be resolved in a few days. Four companies are working on repairing the 1,600-millimeter pipe, with the assistance of a metalworking firm that is forging a joint to be installed in the section where the significant leak occurred. Significant progress was made on the construction site today: workers and equipment from the Tortolì-based Sarda Lavori company demolished the concrete sarcophagus containing the ruptured pipe. A 100-ton structure was shattered by the clamshell bucket of an excavator.
