Five months ago she tragically lost her 10-year-old daughter. Silvia Piu was the mother of Anna Laura Pilia, the little sailor who lost her life while training on her optimist in the waters of the port of Arbatax . The woman passed away today at the age of 47. Wife of Bruno Pilia, retired radiologist and last president of the Province of Ogliastra, she worked in the offices of the ASL polyclinic in Tortolì. The Municipality , interpreting the feelings of the community, has cancelled all the street demonstrations planned for today . Not only that, even the parishes, which had organised bingo and parties for today on the occasion of the Epiphany, have cancelled their programs.

"The mayor, together with the municipal administration, following the tragedy learned this morning in Tortolì in which our dear fellow citizen Silvia passed away, expresses deep condolences and joins in the mourning of the family. The city of Tortoli loses a mother who left us too soon , as a sign of respect and interpreting the common feeling of the citizens, all musical entertainment activities planned for the Epiphany, throughout the municipal territory will be suspended".

Thus the administration wanted to remember the woman and express condolences to her family on a day of grief that continues after the immense tragedy of August 8th.
