Paola Murru, a judge of the Lanusei Court of which she was also president, passed away today after a disease she had been battling for the past year. She was 66 years old and was originally from Tortolì. A widow for some time, she leaves behind two children.

The magistrate was the daughter of the former Sardinian mayor, Quinto Murru, who died on 23 December 2002, and sister of the former administrative director of Ares, Attilio Murru. During her career, Murru had served as a judge in the courts of Milan, Nuoro, Cagliari and finally Lanusei where she still served although in recent months her health conditions had kept her away from her workplace. In 2012, the CSM had appointed her president of the Ogliastra courthouse, taking over from Sergio Gorjan. The position ended after eight years due to the terms having been reached. Murru had continued her career as a GIP.

The death of the magistrate from Tortolì has caused great mourning among her colleagues and the administrative staff of the courthouse on Via Marconi.
