An evacuation order has been issued for several areas in the municipality of Torpè , following the severe weather alert—Code Red—issued by the Sardinian Civil Protection Department. The measure, Mayoral Ordinance 10 issued a few minutes ago, was signed by Mayor Martino Giovanni Sanna.
The Municipality has ordered the immediate evacuation of residents and those domiciled in buildings located along the right and left banks of the Rio Posada and in all areas classified as high risk by the Municipal Civil Protection Plan.
The affected areas are: Baddore, Matta Erva, Ena de Puleu, Filinita, Sa Tanca Noa, San Pietro, Ussela, Sas Luas, L'Unità, Terra Teulasa, Tiedda, Giunne Pala, Su Puttu, Poiu, Badu Arghentu, Pasu e Lana, Binzarena and Multalditana .
Evacuated residents can find shelter in the municipal gym on Via Eleonora d'Arborea , designated as a shelter, or in other homes located in safe areas. The municipal administration also invites families with dependents or those unable to move independently to report their presence by calling 348 4022762.
In Torpé, Ordinance 7 remains in effect, which provides for the closure and prohibition of transit on the river crossing in the S'Adu and Mesu areas, as well as the closure of fords and river crossings downstream . In the order, the mayor recommends that residents turn off electricity, gas, and water supplies before leaving their homes , scrupulously follow evacuation routes, avoid lingering along the routes, and avoid abandoning essential medicines and personal belongings. The Local Police, along with law enforcement and firefighters, are responsible for ensuring the ordinance is enforced and disseminated as widely as possible. The order has been forwarded to the Prefecture of Nuoro and the Sardinia Region.
