The interest expressed by a young couple who had recently moved to the city in an apartment that was up for auction reportedly triggered a violent reaction. This incident sparked the investigation by the Nuoro Flying Squad , coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, and culminated this morning with the execution of three precautionary measures— two detention orders and one house arrest order —against three Nuoro residents held responsible for aggravated extortion, auction rigging, and car arson .
According to investigators' reconstruction, the couple, who had recently moved to the city for work and to look for a home, were threatened after viewing the property up for auction, which was due to go up for sale in the following days . To prevent their participation in the auction, the suspects set fire to the young people's two cars on the night of November 19th . The searches conducted during these measures resulted in the seizure of material deemed useful to corroborate the investigative framework.
