They waited for the staff to arrive to get the keys to the safe but the shot went off. The attempted robbery took place this morning, just before 8, at the Oliena Post Office.
The criminals were three, with their faces covered and probably armed. Perhaps alarmed by an unexpected event, however, they ran away.
According to some witnesses, one was also hit by a car but, getting up, he got into the car with his accomplices. The vehicle was then found on provincial 22 between Oliena and Orgosolo.
The group's searches are conducted by the Carabinieri of the Nuoro Company and the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command. Numerous checkpoints have been set up.
