Theft of sand and shells foiled at the port of Olbia

Sand and shells taken from the beaches of Sardinia were found in the possession of two German tourists.

The couple was leaving on the ferry for Livorno and was subjected to a check at the White Island by the Security agents of the Port System Authority of the Sea of Sardinia.

The material, divided into two plastic bags, was found inside the camper.

The two will be reported to the competent authorities.

This is the first case of sand and shell theft foiled in 2024.
