The Court of Appeal of Rome has revoked the sentence against Marcello Carracoi, former commander of the prison police, who came under investigation on charges of embezzlement on suspicion of having stolen diesel fuel from the distributor of the Is Arenas penal colony , in Arbus.

Carracoi was therefore acquitted, with a provision signed by judge Francesco Noti.

Thus ends a legal case that began with the first sentence of 1 years and 6 months, arrived in 2011 and confirmed in 2014.

However, Carracoi had asked for the proceedings to be reopened by advancing new evidence in his defense and now, after more than 10 years, he has been acquitted by the Capitoline court.
