This is the reconstruction of the night of fear that took place in Cagliari, in via Sassari , where a violent fight broke out between two groups of young people, of Gambian and North African nationality .

The alarm was raised around midnight , when there were still many people in the streets, with the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit, together with colleagues from the Stampace and Villanova stations and a crew from the State Police.

A twenty-nine-year-old Gambian citizen was hit several times with shards of the bottle and was taken to the Santissima Trinità hospital in serious but not life-threatening conditions : he was later discharged with a 20-day prognosis .

The attacker, a twenty-year-old of Tunisian origin with no fixed abode , fled on foot through the surrounding streets but was tracked down a few minutes later in Piazza del Carmine and taken to the provincial command.
The residue of the bottle used in the attack was recovered and seized.
At the end of the investigations, the twenty -year-old Tunisian was declared under arrest for attempted murder and transferred to the “Ettore Scalas” prison in Uta, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari, which is coordinating the investigations.

From an initial investigative assessment, the violent clash could be due to interpersonal conflicts.
