The rape trial opens for Ciro Grillo, called to testify about seventy witnesses
It will be a battle on some heads, the prosecutor wants to hear Grillo's wife, the defense a Norwegian boy accused of rape a year earlier by the same girl

The trial for the alleged rape on the Costa Smeralda in the house of Beppe Grillo opens on Wednesday 16 in Tempio Pausania: on the dock his son Ciro Grillo and three of his friends, now 22-year-old Genoese, Francesco Corsiglia, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria.
The four were sent to trial on charges of group sexual violence against two peers: one of the alleged victims, an Italian-Norwegian at the time 19 years old, with his complaint triggered the investigation that has now resulted in the trial. The facts date back to the summer of 2019.
There are about seventy witnesses cited, about forty for the prosecution and thirty for the defensive pool. The trial will almost certainly take place behind closed doors due to the delicacy of the affair.
Prosecutor Gregorio Capasso represents the accusation. The defensive pool is made up of Gennaro Velle, Ernesto Monteverde, Sandro Vaccaro, Enrico Grillo (Beppe's nephew) and Sassari lawyers Mariano Mameli and Antonella Currureddu. The civil parties are protected by the lawyer Giulia Bongiorno for the Italian-Norwegian girl and by the lawyer Vinicio Nardo for her friend.
In some circumstances, such as the owner of the B&B where the girls spent the night after the events and the kite surf instructor one of them had confided in, the names mentioned by the prosecutor's office and defense coincide.
There will be a battle over the other witnesses. The prosecution called to testify the wife of Beppe Grillo, Parvin Tadijk, the defensive boarding school the son-in-law of the comedian and founder of the 5-star movement, Matteo Scarnecchia. He would have been the one to film Ciro kissing one of the alleged victims of rape in the disco, on the night between 16 and 17 July 2019.
Sparks are also announced among the experts: the defense will oppose her psychologist, Lucia Pattoli, to the psychologist of the Prosecutor's Office, who will have the task of probing the memories of the two students, how they recalled the facts and the consistency of their behavior after the sexual violence from they denounced.
On the technical side, the defense pool cites, among others, the consultant Mattia Epifani who will have to deal with mobile phones, fundamental elements in the reconstruction of the accusation. On the defense front, the summons of a young Norwegian will also weigh, denounced by his compatriot girl for another alleged violence a year before the events on the Costa Smeralda.
