With over 400 members, excellent management, and state-of-the-art sports facilities capable of hosting international events, the Porto Torres Tennis Club is preparing to welcome the Davis Cup, the most coveted trophy in world team tennis, a key player on the 2026 Trophy Tour. Won by the Italian national tennis team, fresh from an extraordinary season that brought Italy back to the pinnacle of international tennis, the trophy will be on display to the public free of charge in the Porto Torres Tennis Club's Club House on Viale delle Vigne from 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd to 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 4th. The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation has chosen the Porto Torres club, which boasts numerous awards for excellence, as one of the stops on the Davis Cup Trophy Tour, which has brought the celebrated trophy to clubs, squares, and historic sites across Italy since 1900.

The initiative was presented this morning at the Palazzo del Marchese, with the participation of Tennis Club President Stefano Caria and Vice President Silvio Cambula, in the presence of Mayor Massimo Mulas, Councilor for Sport Antonello Cabitta, and President of the Sports Commission Francesco Pintus. "Hosting the Davis Cup in our city," said Mayor Massimo Mulas, "is a source of great pride for Porto Torres, and we are delighted with the opportunity offered to the Tennis Club. The Turritano Tennis Club was recently named one of Italy's best clubs by the Sole 24 Ore. "The arrival of the Davis Cup," added Sports Councilor Antonello Cabitta, "represents an important recognition for the Tennis Club, which throughout its long history has continued to grow and set increasingly ambitious goals." Vice President Silvio Cambula commented, "Being able to admire the Davis Cup up close will be a thrill not only for tennis fans but for all sports enthusiasts. Having this trophy in Porto Torres represents a historic moment for our club and for the city." Anyone wishing to see the famous "silver salad bowl" up close and take a photo will be welcomed and escorted to the Davis Hall, where the Cup will be on display and open to the public free of charge.
