A hellish afternoon on the 554 with seven cars involved in a massive pile-up, apparently caused by a ramming accident involving a rental car.
The driver, after causing the accident, fled on foot, but was intercepted by the Carabinieri of Selargius who accompanied him to the barracks. Investigations began. An hour later he was released. However, investigations are continuing to clarify everything in detail.
Seven vehicles involved, stuck in the middle of the road one on top of the other. Four people ended up in hospital with yellow code.
The legal investigations were carried out by the local police of Selargius, coordinated by lieutenant colonel Marco Cantori.
The accident occurred after the traffic lights at Via Nenni at a time of particularly heavy traffic. In a short time, a kilometer-long queue formed with motorists forced into their cars without even being able to reach an escape route. An afternoon, yet another on the 554, difficult to forget.
