Cent more, cent less, it cost 500 million euros. And 50 (million) are needed for its annual management. The giga yacht Luminance, with its 145 meters of length (and the Cayman Islands flag in plain sight), dominates the quay of the Ichnusa pier these days.

A pharaonic familiar profile for the port of Cagliari: this "boat" for billionaires was designed by the Monegasque studio of Espen Oino: he is the Swedish designer who also designed the Crescent project, another mega yacht that was at home in the waters in front of via Roma, until it was seized in the port of Barcelona because, according to investigations by the Russian Asset Tracker journalistic consortium, coordinated by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, the owner is Eduard Khudainatov: an alleged frontman of Vladimir Putin.

The owner of Luminance, however, according to the New York Times, comes from the other side of the fence: he is the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, considered the richest oligarch in the country led by Volodymyr Zelensk y. Akhmetov built his empire through the investment holding System Capital Management , which has interests in the steel sector (he also owns the Mariupol steelworks, the scene of fierce clashes between Russians and the Azov battalion), energy and real estate. He is also president of Shakhtar Donetsk, a Ukrainian football club.

And at the beginning of last year the oligarch decided to give himself the gift of the Luminance: at the moment it is not known for how long this gigantic floating ultra-luxury villa will be stationed in Cagliari.
