After more than forty years of activity, the pizzeria il Bambù closes. Better, change management. And the historic activity frequented by three generations of Cagliaritans changed hands.

The owners of the restaurant in via san Giuliano, in Genneruxi, Sergio and Virginia, with the staff, bid their customers farewell before the last day of work of the year.

«Tomorrow will be a happy day because we will greet the end of a year of restarting, after a truly complicated two-year period, and the beginning of a year that is hopefully even more positive. But tomorrow will also be a slightly sad day because it will be our last day running Bamboo. After more than 40 years, the time has come to pass the hand», they announce via social media.

"Three generations of Cagliaritans have followed one another: those who were first children and came for school pizzas then became parents and in several cases still come back to us today as grandparents", they write.

Bamboo has been a certainty for this city, they argue, «because when you wanted to spend a quiet evening, away from the hubbub of the centre, you knew that in a small street in Genneruxì there was a little place where you could eat excellent pizza or typical dishes of the tradition such as culurgionis, fregola or snails in sauce. Because you knew that, without too many frills, your order would be managed in a few minutes. Because you knew that in winter the internal room was always welcoming for you, while in the summer the external pergola would wrap you up and pamper you».

A piece of Cagliari's history that ends: «On the one hand there is a pinch of sadness but on the other there is the pride of having kept many company for a long time always with passion, professionalism and a smile on one's lips» .
