A new fire threatened the town of Isili around midday. It seems that the flames started along state road 128 and reached the countryside close to the industrial area of Sa Porta Manna.

The path of the flames along several hundred meters approached some houses on the outskirts of the town, sending plastic boxes up in smoke and causing damage to some farms. About ten goats and some chickens died and around 40 round bales were burned.

The firefighting operations are still underway.

The Forestry Service, the Sanluri and Mandas Fire Brigade, several Forestas teams, the Sarcidano Civil Protection volunteers and several citizens intervened. A Canadair and two helicopters are on site, one of which is a super Puma.

The fire was stopped right next to the city park, after having enveloped the abandoned structure located just before it.
