The entire area of the old port of Olbia which overlooks the historic center will be used for pleasure boating. Another piece, after the concession of the Brin pier which will become a landing place for maxi yachts, was placed yesterday with the adoption by the management committee of the Port Authority of the second functional technical adaptation to the port master plan which extends the same function and also destination at the head of the Molo Vecchio, the Molo Bosazza and the entire seaside perimeter of Via Poltu Ezzu.

«We are completing the process of gradual enhancement and relaunch of the heart of the Olbia seafront started in 2021 – explains Massimo Deiana, president of the AdSP of the Sea of Sardinia – Once the favorable opinion of the Superior Council for Public Works has been obtained, another 650 meters of quays and related bodies of water can be redeveloped and used, in an orderly and functional manner, for pleasure boating. A step that aligns the tourist-recreational vocation of that stretch of waterfront with the planning tools in force, with the city's development strategies, giving further impetus to the thriving nearby nautical shipbuilding sector"

A process still in its infancy while the transformation of the Brin pier into a port for mega yachts is expected in two years. Last July, the thirty-year concession was formalized to the Quay Royal company (which belongs to the Olbia Marina) which will create a landing place for high-level boating. The project presented by the company includes 17 berths for boats from 45 to 140 meters in length.
