A resolution of the regional council puts an end to the existence of the industrial consortium of Macomer, which is merged with the Provincial Industrial Consortium of Nuoro. The resolution was signed last June 14, proposed by councilors Emanuele Cani (Industry) and Rosanna Laconi (Environment). A resolution that speaks clearly: «The Provincial Industrial Consortium of Nuoro takes over from that of Macomer in terms of functions, assets and personnel. Everything will end, barring second thoughts, on June 30, 2026. A decision that is creating controversy and protests, especially with the mayors of the area. We hope to have as soon as possible with the Region, in its maximum expression, the necessary dialogue on the entire matter of the industrial area of Tossilo and on the development strategies. We wait confidently."
The mayor of Macomer, Riccardo Uda, says this, but he doesn't go any further. Much clearer is the president of the Union of Marghine Municipalities, Franco Scanu, who says: «A hasty decision, which risks leading to unjust things being done. Councilors Cani and Laconi would have done well to consult the local administrators first. We have the feeling that there is a very specific plan behind it, to cut off Marghine from any form of autonomous development. We await clarification, but let Cagliari know that the Union of Municipalities will take a tough stance."
The Acting Mayor of Borore, Alessandro Porcu, stands out from the chorus of protests and says: «Until now, misleading information has been given regarding the content of the Regional Council's resolution. Regarding the future of the Industrial Consortium, the territory has already put forward proposals which will be discussed with the competent councilors and with President Todde". Controversy rages on. Fausto Mura, honorary president of the Nino Carrus association: «It's Marghine's defeat. The territory thus becomes increasingly subordinate and marginal." Categorical Antonio Succu, former mayor of Macomer and representative of minorities in the city council. «During our administration we have always opposed this solution, with strength and determination. In this way a history and a territory are humiliated. And let's not say that it was a necessary act, because the solution would have been there if Marghine had not been orphaned of representation in the regional council. I wonder if there still exists an assembly of mayors in the Union of Municipalities of Marghine." Everyone is asking for clarification from the President of the Region Alessandra Todde.
