His name was Alessandro Masala , he was 34 years old and the young man from Ittiri was killed in the impact between his motorcycle and a truck .
The boy yesterday afternoon was traveling on the provincial road 28 when for reasons under investigation, perhaps an illness, he invaded the left lane and ended up against a heavy vehicle near the "Monte Coinzolu" industrial area.
The blow was very violent and sent him flying for a few meters.
For over an hour, the doctors who rushed tried to save his life, but unfortunately it was useless : the 34-year-old died on the road, even before arriving at the Sassari emergency room on the helicopter that had already been alerted.
The local police, 118 and the Alghero carabinieri were also on site to clarify what happened.
