In Cagliari there is a youth emergency. Not only for what happens on the weekend with the episodes related to the malamovida. But also for their driving behaviour: they get behind the wheel without a licence, with uninsured cars and are sometimes drunk. And then there are the cases of children being used by drug trafficking groups to transport and deliver doses.

Even the Local Police, in its balance sheet on the activity carried out in 2022, sound the alarm: "During our services we increasingly encounter wrong and illegal behavior of minors and very young people", comments the commander Guido Calzia. "And often, when we call the parents we notice an attitude of understanding and almost of justification for the behavior of their children". Thanks to the emergency unit, under the coordination of Davide Ullasci, we are trying to have greater control over the city even with the presence of agents on motorcycles and scooters, able to intervene promptly even in the narrowest streets and squares.

Alongside roadside services and checks (nearly three accidents a day, eight fatal "accidents", with the youngest age group responsible for a large part of the accidents and distraction, due to the use of the cell phone, and the speed among the main causes ), the Municipality is engaged every day in a series of checks on many other fields. Those on waste and correct disposal are continuous: «The separate waste collection is 75%. But the illegal behaviors are there. Above all the transfer to illegal landfills and in the suburbs », admits Calzia. The head of the sector, Elisabetta Spano, adds: "There were 726 sanctions, more than half of the administrative sanctions imposed by the body".

Local Police are also at work on building abuses, "the reports and complaints are numerous", and "on the fight against the illegal occupation of homes and premises" . Thanks to the new agents who have arrived in recent months, "the presence on the street will be strengthened", the commander reiterates.
