"Mattresses, tyres, household appliances, asbestos slabs, debris from demolitions and other highly toxic material. The one that also insists on the bank of the Rio Padrongianus for more than 500 meters is a real expanse of heaps of dangerous waste . An ecological bomb at the entrance to the river park which was also discussed in the City Council last October 17, the date on which the intention was renewed to acquire the entire area on free loan from the Province for its redevelopment that would allow the citizens to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the site".

Thus the group leader of the M5S, Roberto Li Gioi , who presented a new question on the Sa Corroncedda landfill to ask the president of the Region, Christian Solinas, to take action in light of the gravity of the situation in Olbia.

«Obviously if these conditions persist - continues Li Gioi - the dream of being able to use that area for the most varied recreational activities is destined to vanish . The Sa Corroncedda landfill continues to be a huge problem for the city".

«The Municipality of Olbia , after having received and used a loan of one million euros, on December 12, 2020, asked the Region for an additional 8 million and 30 thousand euros , deemed necessary for the complete reclamation of the landfill and the integral protection of the area. . Thanks to the answer to my question on the matter, filed in October 2019, we learned that the Region has not yet taken steps to identify and allocate the necessary funds », specifies Li Gioi again. And he concludes: "I ask President Solinas to take steps to ensure that a financial allocation dedicated to the reclamation of the Sa Corroncedda area is included in the next Finance Act. Only in this way will the project for the construction of the Padrongianus river park be able to see the light".
