The agricultural world gathered in Cagliari: "Here it closes, the Region moves"
The assembly convened by Coldiretti fills the Congress Center of the Fair: “Millions blocked for years, sector at the end”. Ready a class actionThe money has been promised, but it doesn't reach the countryside. "It is not possible that the bureaucracy is plastering millions and millions of euros destined to farmers, as refreshments, even since 2017: only 25% have received part of the amount due, all the others nothing. In an exceptional period, politics must respond with equally exceptional measures ”.
These are the words of the president of Coldiretti Sardegna Battista Cualbu, this morning at the congress center of the Cagliari Fair. The representative of breeders and farmers of the island spoke on the sidelines of the assembly, which filled the large room, called to (re) forcefully bring to the fore the dramatic situation of a "forgotten category that risks closing due to price increases out of control of raw materials that makes companies work at a loss: the increase in production costs is not proportional to that of the prices of agricultural products which in many cases have remained unchanged. Added to this is the almost total indifference of the State and the Region that consider this world to be second-class ".
Just think of the reclamation consortia, added Cualbu: “The water folders have quadrupled: using it is no longer feasible”.
The sectors no longer hold up the costs of production, fuel and raw materials, often going at a loss. Coldiretti is ready to launch a class action to protect the sector.
For its part, the reclamation consortium, which supports thousands of farmers with the irrigation of the fields, wrote to the prefect of Cagliari asking for protection: "By continuing in this way we are unable to pay the bills. We risk the disconnection of electricity for our installations ".
