The 76-year-old involved in a head-on collision on Monday morning along Viale Giovanni Paolo II in Sassari did not make it . The news of his death arrived yesterday evening.

His name was Assunzio Antonino Serra, he was 76 years old and a resident of Uri. The pensioner was driving, a couple of days ago, his Punto on the two-lane highway in the direction of Ittiri when, at the height of the juvenile court, the man, perhaps struck by an illness, lost control of the car and went over the curb.

The collision with a Mini driven by a woman who, at that moment, was proceeding towards Sassari was inevitable.

The impact between the two cars was very violent, but while the woman at the wheel did not suffer any significant injuries , it was necessary to transport the 76-year-old to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in red code. The local police, 118 and the fire brigade intervened on the scene.
