In recent days, the controls of the traffic police have further intensified to ensure safety on the main arteries of the Nuoro area, in particular to prevent the so-called "Saturday night massacres".

During the activities, checks were carried out on 14 drivers, 6 of whom - aged between 20 and over 65 - tested positive for the breathalyzer test, including a new driver.

One of these had a rate higher than 1.84 gr./l.

The incidence of drunk driving is always too high. A 34-year-old from Nuoro, on the night of 7 May, became the protagonist of a brief chase by the patrol at the entrance to Nuoro. Once reached, the police officers found that the man was in a state of alteration typical of excessive intake of alcoholic substances and, although repeatedly invited by the same officers, he refused to undergo the alcohol test. It also emerged that he did not have a driving licence, so – in addition to the complaint – the seizure of the car was also triggered.

In just 8 days, during the verification services for compliance with the speed limits, carried out on State Roads 131 Carlo Felice, DCN and 389, the Traffic Police Section of Nuoro, with the Detachments of Bitti, Orosei, Lanusei, Laconi, Macomer and Siniscola, withdrew 51 licenses. A driver was caught speeding his car on 131 DCN at 193 km/h.

Another 14 drivers were fined for lack of insurance coverage and 3 other infringements of the Highway Code were contested. A total of 70 points were reduced and 4 cars were seized.
