Resisting a public official and assault. A 49-year-old man from the town was arrested on these charges yesterday in Sorso. According to the charges, the man was seen waving a stick in one of Sorso's squares, and the Carabinieri intervened to subdue him.

Upon their arrival, however, the man reacted violently, refusing to be handcuffed and striking the military personnel who were forced to arrest him.

The suspect also suffered several physical injuries that appear to have resulted from a previous fight, which could be the subject of an investigation.

Today, at a validation hearing in Sassari court, the man, represented by Paola Dessì of the Sassari Bar Association, received confirmation of his arrest and an order requiring him to report to the police station every day. The judge was Massimo Zaniboni and the prosecutor Antonio Piras.
