«My Mirko like your Gessica, died to defend us. Don't tell yourself it's your fault." Paola Piras wrote a letter to Tefta Malaj. A tragic fate brought the two women together. Paola, from Tortolì, is the mother of Mirko Farci, killed at the age of 21, in May 2021, by a violent man with whom she had had an affair: her son defended her when he tried to kill her. Gessica Malaj, 16, from Torremaggiore, in Puglia, died in the same way: stabbed by her father who had attacked her mother, after taking the life of what she considered the woman's lover.

Two stories similar in their drama. This is why Paola Piras has decided to send a strong message to that woman who risks experiencing the same sufferings that she too had to go through. And cross again.

He did it because for many, too many, there is a full-blown murderer. But also a culprit: the woman, "guilty" of having dated the wrong person. In moments of pain that woman, the victim, could also feel the responsibility upon her. Paola wanted to tell Tefta that this is not right. Heartfelt lines, which were also reported online.

And, punctually, the hater has arrived: among the social comments, from a fake profile, there are those who insult Paola Piras. The least chilling phrase is "learn also which sweethearts you bring home". The Italian is broken, the concept violent. Piras is also accused of being in search of celebrity.

The post is reported by Tortolì's mother herself. «The choice to make my pain public», Piras finds himself explaining, «initially stems from the very strong need to talk about Mirko, perhaps to exorcise his absence, so devastating». For the monsters of the net, however, it is not his right: «Every time a post or an interview is published», is the bitter observation, «I cannot fail to notice comments of insults and violence. I know that the road ahead will be endless and with no way out. Unfortunately".
