This morning, an ARST bus from Lanusei to Nuoro, loaded with commuters and students, began leaking large amounts of diesel fuel shortly after arriving from the Pedemontana.

The vehicle continued to leave a trail of fuel until Via Catte, where the driver also noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment and decided to stop for safety reasons.

Two firefighting teams responded to the scene, alerted to the risk that the bus could catch fire due to the leak.

Operators secured the area and the vehicle, preventing further danger to passengers and motorists. To allow for emergency operations, local police closed Via Catte at the intersection with Via Mughina, causing traffic disruption in the area.
