At 85 years old he had ventured on an excursion in the Supramonte in the territories between Orgosolo, Dorgali and Urzulei.

But while he was walking along the path that leads to the Gorropu canyon, perhaps because the rain had made the ground slippery, he suddenly slipped and ended up in a ravine.

The accident in the very early afternoon today could have had much more serious consequences for the 85-year-old tourist of Roman origins. The man who was in the company of other people rolled down several meters, causing several abrasions to his limbs and a head injury.

The helicopter rescue team intervened on the scene and transported the unfortunate man to San Francesco in Nuoro: his life is not in danger.
