Outdoor tourism also increases every year in the province of Oristano, however there are very few equipped municipal rest areas for campers. Something will change in the coming months.

Six municipalities in the Oristano area are working to create equipped camper areas. This is thanks to regional funds allocated a year ago for the creation of a site where campers can park and use various services including electricity and water drainage. They are Terralba, Mogoro, Samugheo, Zeddiani, Morgongiori and Santa Giusta.

The first five administrations obtained 50 thousand euros. Santa Giusta instead 15 thousand euros: in the lagoon town the camper area had already been built years ago but was in a state of abandonment. Precisely this one, which is located in via Darsena, will be the first to open its doors: «The renovation works are finished - explains the councilor for public works Pierpaolo Erbì - We have restored the machinery and systems. There will be a ribbon cutting very soon."

Mayor Claudio Pinna speaks from Zeddiani: «The design of the area that will be built at the entrance to the town coming from Baratili will soon be entrusted». The deputy mayor of Terralba Andrea Grussu: «We will soon approve the executive project. The area will be built in the extension of via Porcella." The area that will be built on the outskirts of Mogoro is also in the planning phase. In Morgongiori, Is Benas will be built in the pine forest. This is what the Municipality led by Mayor Paolo Pistis decided: «We are waiting to have the OK from the Region for the transfer of the civic use that burdens the area, then we will be able to operate». In Samugheo the camper area will be located in via Kennedy.
