They arrived in front of the municipal theater of Sorgono with tractors, bulldozers, billboards and slogans to welcome the arrival in Sorgono of the new general manager of the Asl of Nuoro, Paolo Cannas, who had planned to meet the administrators of the socio-health district.

The protesters of the "Sos health Barbagia Mandrolisai" committee called for more attention to local health services, from emergency-urgency to hospital surgery, to the prevention of various pathologies up to the incentive to birth through the clinic.

Cannas has chosen to speak directly with the citizens mobilized by the committee: "I came to listen to you so that you know that you now have a direct reference - he explained -. There are many points to address but first of all we have to work on the hospital in Sorgono. which must be retrained: we can use both local surgeons and external teams on planned surgical interventions ”.

On the territorial medicine front, "we are publishing calls for proposals for paediatrics and general medicine, in order to cover some vacant offices and we are also taking action on the front of the search for doctors to deal with the disastrous situation of waiting lists". "I don't have a magic wand - he underlined - but brick by brick if we work together we will succeed".

There was no lack of controversy, the demonstrators asked for immediate solutions because "you have been telling us the same things for 20 years".

"We know that such complex problems cannot be solved in two months, but a dialogue has opened and we have given a credit line to the CEO Cannas - explained Bachis Cadau of the Sos Barbagia Mandrolisai committee -. We are determined to collaborate with the director. general but know that we will monitor the situation day by day and if you do not start solving the problems we will immediately get back to the office ".
