The rite of sheep shearing took place in Sinnai in the Piazza di Santa Vittoria, a tradition that is renewed every year before the summer on the initiative of the Festival Committee in honor of Santa Vittoria.

Lots of people and lots of curiosity last Saturday around the very skilled hands of handling scissors with the wool then collected by the owners of the same sheep. There were also many kids who witnessed the shearing for the first time: in the evening the typical sheep farming products were displayed.

Once upon a time, sheep shearing was also a great celebration in the sheepfolds with wool merchants arriving from all over. Today this is no longer the case: the crisis in the fields and sheep farming has reduced the livestock population in the area to a minimum.

In the video (granted) a moment of the shearing.
