In Sinnai the bulldozers went into operation demolishing the old swimming pool, to create space for a very modern Olympic facility (one of the few in Sardinia) with a 50 meter pool, which can be used for national and international events. A solar thermal system for water heating, a system of photovoltaic panels, a bar and facilities for padel and five-a-side football are also planned.

The bleachers and gym will also be built. The cost of the intervention is five million arrived with the Pnrr and 300 thousand euros made available by the Municipality of Sinnai.

The contract was won by a Sicilian company and concerns a part of the project for a total of three million and 300 thousand euros. Another two million have been allocated for the construction of collateral sports facilities, changing rooms and for the arrangement of the external spaces themselves. The work should be completed in a year.

«We will have a modern and functional facility – says the mayor Tarcisio Anedda – a structure that will also be able to host high-level national events. The old swimming pool had been closed for some years: an obsolete system with very high management costs." The old swimming pool had been closed a few years ago.

At the same time, the other works planned with funding (over 10 million) from the Pnrr are also underway in Sinnai. «In recent weeks - says the councilor for public works, Aurora Cappai - the three million works have begun for the middle school in via Caravaggio, for the recovery of the Cinema Roma, for a kindergarten in Sant'Isidoro. Work has started on the construction of the new headquarters of the voluntary associations in the area of the former slaughterhouse. Over ten million euros arrived with the Pnrr: for the moment, we are proceeding in compliance with the deadlines."

In recent days we are working to start the works linked to further new funding received from the Region. «With these projects - says engineer Valentina Lussu, head of the municipality's technical office - the renovation of the gyms in via Giotto and via Olimpia (one million and 100 thousand euros), the streets of Solanas (one million), for the construction of the carabinieri barracks (two million). With another two million - concludes Lussu - the work outside the swimming pool will be completed. I also remember the work underway in the pine forest and another 500 thousand euro project for the improvement of roads in Sinnai".
