Twenty-eight applications for a competition to hire a traffic policeman at the Municipality of Sinnai. No applications from residents arrived from the town.
The winner of the upcoming competition will be hired on a permanent basis to replace a traffic policeman from Sinnai who, having entered service in 1984, will retire on November 1st.
From the future ranking, in addition to the first place winner, five other traffic police officers will be chosen to be assigned to the summer service in Solanas and Torre delle stelle with fixed-term contracts. The objective of the Municipality is to open a branch in the tourist district of Solanas: a detached branch that will remain open during the tourist season.
"It's really sensational," says the commander of the local police, Captain Giuseppe Fiori, "the absence of residents, also considering the job opportunities that can arise with this competition. The opening of a summer office in Solanas has been one of our goals for a long time. There is an absolute need for a service on the coast too. Up to now we have guaranteed it starting from Sinnai. With the office in Solanas everything will become more immediate for every need."
Currently, the Sinnai Local Police Corps consists of two officers and nine agents. Three are women in uniform. "The staff should be at least double."
