Sinnai, mother killed with a stab wound: psychiatric evaluation for Tidu
The judge accepts the request of the twenty-seven-year-old's defence, also supported by the prosecution: psychological problems have recently emergedA psychiatric evaluation has been ordered for Andrea Tidu, the twenty-seven year old accused of stabbing to death his mother, Maria Dolores Cannas, aged 57, in the family home in via Monte Genis, in Sinnai, on Sunday afternoon.
Judge Giorgio Altieri validated the arrest of the young man, immediately accepting the request of both the defender, Roberto Zanda, and the public prosecutor, Enrico Lussu. During the investigations it emerged that the boy had already been experiencing psychological problems for some time, although he never sought medical help.
The crime could therefore have occurred in a context that only the expert Irene Mascia, appointed by the judge (also to establish the twenty-seven-year-old's capacity to stand trial), will be able to ascertain. And it would therefore not be attributable, as filtered yesterday afternoon, to the degeneration of a dispute linked to the ban on the use of the family car which was allegedly opposed by the mother to her son.
