The staff of the Sinnai Forestry Station, in execution of a precautionary measure order of the investigating judge of Cagliari, arrested a 61-year-old, resident of Maracalagonis, already known to the police for crimes related to possession of weapons and poaching.

The man was serving a sentence for previous crimes through the alternative measure of probation at a cooperative of socially useful services. And, among the prescriptions imposed, there was the absolute prohibition of using weapons and associating with armed people. Prescriptions that the man did not respect and therefore   the doors of Uta prison opened for him.

The discovery was made during a check carried out during a hunting trip on the slopes of Mount Sette Fratelli . At the sight of the officers, the hunters present fled . On that occasion, however, the forest rangers stopped a 31-year-old, who was carrying a rifle without a serial number in his backpack. The man was reported, but the episode led to further investigations that allowed the identification of the 61-year-old among the fugitives, who had not only participated in the hunting trip, violating the provisions of the alternative measure, but was also the one who had given the 31-year-old the backpack containing the clandestine weapon.

Following the elements collected, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari therefore requested and obtained from the investigating judge the issuing of a precautionary measure in prison against the offender for crimes related to the possession and carrying of a clandestine weapon, as well as for the violation of the obligations imposed by the alternative measure.

The arrest was carried out by the personnel of the Sinnai Forestry Station and, as mentioned, the man was taken to the Uta prison.
