Sinnai's grandfather turned 103. Giovanni Olla was celebrated by family and friends in the presence of the deputy mayor Barbara Pusceddu and the parish priest father Gabriele Biccai. A special gift for him too: during the little party at home, he wore the tricolor sash of Mayor Tarcisio Anedda who was unable to be present.

He also received a gift from the deputy mayor and a Carmelite cross from the parish priest. The grandfather, who lives with his daughter Anna and a granddaughter, liked it, then digging through the memories of his life, telling everything with extreme lucidity.

Born on August 12, 1923, tziu Giuseppe dedicated his life to work and love for his family. At the age of 14, he started working as a laborer after attending a few elementary school classes. A refined mason with stops, as well as in his native town, in Ortacesus, Carbonia, Castiadas, Cagliari: he has always been in love with his work, an authentic art, his with the construction of stone walls and also in ladiri (bricks in mud and hay), he built many houses in the village.

An only child, he also served in the military in Tempio, risking ending up in Africa (the mission was skipped). Then the return to Sinnai, again as a bricklayer.

"I'm fine," he says. Life has given me so many satisfactions, a wife, children, work, an over one hundred year old sister who died a few years ago. I still have a good appetite and am in good health. I can only thank the Lord for the gifts he has given me."
