The 101st edition of the festival of Sant'Elena Imperatrice will be celebrated in the countryside from 16 to 20 August. It will begin tomorrow, Friday, at 8 pm with the celebration of a mass in the parish of Santa Barbara . The procession will follow to the country church of the Saint, immersed among centuries-old olive trees and almond trees.

A pilgrimage on foot of several kilometers, with the effigy of Saint Helena accompanied by the sound of the launeddas of Orlando Mascia of Maracalagonis and his students of the Sardinian Popular Orchestra. Upon arrival at the church, there will be a blessing , followed by a concert with the tenores of Neoneli , Orlando and Eliseo Mascia. A refreshment offered by the Celebration Committee will follow.

On Saturday, Mass will be celebrated in the little church at 11am. At 7pm, another Mass in suffrage for Monsignor Giovanni Cadeddu, Father Gianni Concas, Don Alberto Pistolesi and the deceased members. At 7:30pm, a children's show by "The magic fest" will be held. A dance festival by Iknos party will follow.

The festival will continue on August 18th at 8:00 pm with the celebration of a mass, animated by the polyphonic choir S'Arrodia. At 8:00 pm, fireworks ; at 10:30 pm, show with the ethnomusical group Nodias. On August 19th at 8:00 pm, mass dedicated to the "Elene". At the end, the procession around the church and the blessing of the fields. At 9:30 pm, poetry competition with Marco Damu, Lello Atzeri, Francesco Capuzzi and Antonello Milia. On the guitar, Luca Tiddia. Closing on August 20th, with the evening procession that will bring Sant'Elena back to the church of Santa Barbara.
