This morning, the Cagliari Coast Guard intervened to rescue a woman who, during a sup excursion that started from Marina Piccola and continued along the coast, had felt ill. Italian, 47 years old, she was unable to return to shore under her own power .

The CP 320 patrol boats, with a fast Hurricane A67 vessel from the Cagliari Coast Guard, quickly reached the area and, thanks to a “rescue swimmer” (a soldier specifically trained in sea rescue in all marine weather conditions) , stabilized the woman and then took her back - on board the patrol boat - to Marina Piccola, where she was entrusted to the care of 118.

The use of the “rescue swimmer” allowed the intervention to be carried out even in waters made treacherous by the presence of surfacing rocks. The Areus helicopter rescue crew also provided medical support for the stabilization of the woman.
