A 62-year-old from Ulassai was arrested in the act of crime by the Carabinieri of the Company of the country on charges of attempted murder of a man who, together with an accomplice, was trying to steal his off-road vehicle on the land he owned, in the locality of Taccurrulu. .

The two were surprised by the owner as they were driving away in the car. To stop them, the 62-year-old fired a shotgun shot that reached the ankle of one of the criminals.

On the spot, alerted by a witness, the carabinieri then arrived and blocked and arrested the man for attempted murder.

Not far away was found the off-road vehicle hastily abandoned by thieves. Inside were the documents of one of the two fugitives, whose name was communicated to the military by the Lanusei hospital: in fact, the criminal had presented himself to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his foot.

The man is now hospitalized, not in danger of life, and is under investigation for aggravated robbery . The 62-year-old, on the other hand, has already been transferred to the Lanusei prison .
