" Stuck in port for hours, deceived by shipping companies ." This is the anger of the mayor of the municipality of Santa Maria Coghinas, Pietro Carbini, blocked for a night on board the Grimaldi ship , stopped in port in Olbia together with Moby Lines due to bad weather , "without warning and tossed from one ferry to another that then didn't leave."

The inconveniences affected passengers and truck drivers with vehicles in tow , already embarked on the Moby.

The two ships were supposed to cast off from the Isola Bianca dock yesterday evening, Tuesday 19 November at 10:00 p.m., a double run to head towards the port of Livorno. Adverse sea weather conditions at the Tuscan port prevented their departure.

"While Moby announced that same evening that the ship would not be able to leave due to the stormy sea, the Grimaldi ship was announcing reservations until 9:30 p.m. that would have guaranteed the departure ," explains the mayor, traveling with a delegation of four administrators from the Municipality of Santa Maria Coghinas who, once disembarked in the Tuscan port, had to reach the city of Turin to participate in the 41st Anci congressional assembly. "So the chaos of moving trucks and cars from the Moby ship to the Grimaldi ferry, and the renewal of the ticket, paid twice, even if refundable ," explains Carbini. "But to add insult to injury, they closed the doors at 10 p.m., announcing that the ship would not leave ."

A long odyssey for the passengers who, this morning, at 10:30, departure time for Livorno, were still stuck on the dock waiting to leave, amidst uncertainty and protests. Only at 11:15 did the Grimaldi ship cast off.
