To escape yet another attack from her husband, she sought refuge in the Carabinieri barracks .

It happened last night in San Basilio : the woman managed to escape from her home and rang the intercom of the local police station, which was closed to the public at the time. At that moment , her husband, a 41-year-old unemployed man, arrived and forced her into his car .

However, that intercom call reached the operations center of the Dolianova Company and the operator, from the background noise and the inability to speak to the woman, immediately realized that something serious was happening , requiring immediate intervention.

The patrols in the area and the staff at the San Basilio station were alerted. The commander was among the first to arrive: the officers, using images from the barracks' video surveillance system, immediately identified the victim and intervened. Arriving at the couple's home, they found the 41-year-old man, subdued and taken to the station . The woman, along with her youngest daughter, had instead sought refuge at the home of some neighbors , who, hearing her screams, offered her shelter.

The investigation revealed a pattern of ongoing, unreported abuse : the woman was obsessively controlled, threatened, and often beaten. He was sent to Uta prison, and the victim was taken to the Monserrato Polyclinic.
