She was born on Thursday 10 October at the Policlinico di Monserrato with an emergency cesarean section, one month premature, after a routine visit where a complete absence of a heartbeat had emerged. For the parents, a young couple who live in Monserrato, it seemed that the worst was over, but in the first days of life the newborn had problems again: a serious heart disease, which led to the heart functioning at 20% and required three days in an incubator and neonatal intensive care .

A period, the one spent in Monserrato, which was not able to solve the problem also due to the need to use means other than those available to the hospital. Reason why, in the last few days, the child was transported from the Policlinico to the Elmas airport, where an Air Force plane took her to Rome to be entrusted to the care of Bambin Gesù . Where she is still in neonatal intensive care and in danger of life.

Tests carried out at the Capitoline hospital have revealed a heart malformation, which requires a transplant . The little girl is hospitalized in intensive care, intubated and fed by tube: in addition, she has had a physiological loss of weight and will have to regain it before the transplant can be performed. The parents followed their daughter to Rome, but for bureaucratic reasons they will have to return to Cagliari because they did not have time to register her in the registry office. Also for this reason, they have started a fundraiser to cover the expenses of staying in Rome, with the unused proceeds that will be donated to the Bambin Gesù Hospital .
