Setzu, a vast fire threatens the Giara plateau
Dramatic hours for fear that the fire will reach the area of great naturalistic valueThe flames driven by a strong wind developed at the foot of the Giara plateau on the Setzu side.
The firefighting operations coordinated by the men of the Forestry Corps have not yet been completed. In addition to the ground crews, three helicopters have been operating continuously for several hours, including a Super Puma and a Canadair. The fire has not yet extinguished, but it is currently under control.
There were dramatic hours for fear that the flames would move towards the plateau, an area of great naturalistic value famous for the presence of wild horses. It is precisely here that the director of extinguishing operations directed the greatest number of launches to avoid the worst.
The fire would have started from several places and would have found various triggers.
The Tuili side was also affected by the fire. The tanks for the supply of aircraft have run out of water and if a mobile tank is not installed, there is a risk that the times of each launch will expand dramatically.
