A tragic accident, almost certainly due to illness, was the cause of the workplace tragedy in Villasimius. The victim was 65-year-old entrepreneur Sandro Cocco from Settimo San Pietro, who was burned to death by a blowtorch he was using to finish waterproofing the balcony of a private home.

The magistrate has ordered the body to be returned to the family for the funeral, which will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 5:00 PM in the parish church of Settimo San Pietro, Sandro Cocco's hometown, where he lived with his family. Father Giuseppe Orrù will officiate.

Immediately after the blowtorch accident, Sandro Cocco was airlifted to the Sassari Burns Center, where he sadly passed away last Sunday. His death has sparked deep mourning in Settimo and everywhere he worked.
