The validation hearing at the Court of Cagliari ended today, confirming the arrests of two people accused of aggravated theft in a supermarket in Settimo San Pietro. The two suspects were granted terms of defense.

The facts date back to Tuesday afternoon, when the Carabinieri of the Sinnai Station arrested in flagrante delicto a 26-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, both residents of Selargius.

The two, unemployed and already known to the police, were surprised by the security personnel of the Lidl supermarket, located along the Strada Provinciale 15 in Settimo San Pietro, while they were trying to get past the anti-shoplifting barriers after having stolen various goods for a total value of 500 euros. The stolen goods were immediately recovered and returned to the store.

After the formal procedures, the arrested were escorted to their respective homes, under house arrest. Then the summary hearing took place this morning.
