A rolling cargo ship flying the flag of Malta was impounded in Cagliari by the Harbor Master's Office.

The motor ship, with a tonnage of 26536 tons, landed in the port of the Sardinian capital to carry out loading and unloading operations for semi-trailers.

The age of the ship, the type and other factors have assigned to the ship in question a boat profile to be inspected, with the checks of the PSC inspectors (Port State Control, in charge of controlling the foreign flag shipping) who have therefore ascertained as many as 13 irregularities with respect to the international reference legislation, of which several considered to be of such seriousness as to entail the detention of the same ship until it is appropriately brought into law.

Among the main shortcomings reported are those in the field of structural fire protection.
