Selargius, big fire on the outskirts: flames close to homes, firefighters intervene

A large fire developed in areas near the homes of via Segni and Nenni , with the mobilization of firefighters and volunteers.

The alarm went off late in the morning : residents and passing motorists reported it with phone calls to 112: several teams were sent to the area.

Despite the wind, firefighters managed to contain the flames which attacked a reed thicket and weeds.

There was no lack of concern: the massive and above all immediate intervention of the firefighters avoided the worst with the fire which was finally contained: now the clean-up to make the site safe begins.

The Carabinieri of Selargius and the Quartu mobile radio unit were also on site and closed the roads adjacent to the area to car traffic: everything should soon return to normal. The Quartu carabinieri coordinated by captains Cerri and Lucania will carry out the investigations to clarify the causes of the fire and to trace any responsibilities.
