Tragedy struck a few minutes ago along provincial road 15, at the intersection with Via del Lavoro, where a violent collision between a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 27-year-old motorcyclist, originally from Cagliari.

According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Quartu Mobile Radio Unit, who responded to the scene together with officers from the Sestu and Selargius stations, the Benelli motorbike, with two people on board, collided head-on with a Ford C Max for reasons still under investigation.

The impact was devastating. One of the two motorcyclists died instantly, while the passenger was treated for serious injuries and taken to Cagliari hospital with critical condition. The driver of the car was unharmed.

Emergency medical personnel also arrived on the scene, making lengthy attempts to resuscitate the victim and securing the accident area. The Carabinieri are conducting technical investigations to accurately reconstruct the accident's dynamics and determine any liability.
