A scorching Monday, as forecasted. Today, Sardinia woke to a muggy blanket and markedly rising temperatures, thanks to the African anticyclone sweeping across much of the Mediterranean, and the island is no exception.

According to official data from the ARPAS network, which monitors temperatures through a dense network of stations across the region , today's high was recorded in Dorgali , at 40.7 degrees Celsius. This value marks the highest temperature of the day on the island, confirming a trend that has become consolidated over recent summers: increasingly intense heat. And the inland areas are no exception.

The mountains are also surprising. In Desulo , temperatures reached 27.8 degrees Celsius : significant figures, considering the altitude and the generally cooler climate of the Barbagia town.
